the algorithm for solving the inverse numerical range problem
Convergence Analysis of Two Numerical Schemes Applied to a Nonlinear Elliptic Problem
For a given nonlinear problem discretized by standard finite elements, we propose two iterative schemes to solve the discrete problem. We prove the well-posedness of the corresponding problems and their convergence. Next, we construct error indicators and prove optimal a posteriori estimates where we treat separately the discretization and linearization errors. Some numerical experiments confir...
متن کاملGrid Convergence Error Analysis for Mixed-Order Numerical Schemes
New developments are presented in the area of grid convergence error analysis for mixed-order numerical schemes. A mixed-order scheme is de ned as a numerical method where the formal order of the truncation error varies either spatially, for example, at a shock wave, or for different terms in the governing equations, for example, third-order convection with second-order diffusion. The case exa...
متن کاملConvergence of a Discontinuous Galerkin Method for the Miscible Displacement under Minimal Regularity
Discontinuous Galerkin time discretizations are combined with the mixed finite element and continuous finite element methods to solve the miscible displacement problem. Stable schemes of arbitrary order in space and time are obtained. Under minimal regularity assumptions on the data, convergence of the scheme is proved by using compactness results for functions that may be discontinuous in time.
متن کاملNumerical Methods for a Model for Compressible Miscible Displacement in Porous Media
A nonlinear parabolic system is derived to describe compressible miscible displacement in a porous medium. The system is consistent with the usual model for incompressible miscible displacement. Two finite element procedures are introduced to approximate the concentration of one of the fluids and the pressure of the mixture. The concentration is treated by a Galerkin method in both procedures, ...
